Association of Earth Science Editors

The Association of Earth Science Editors (AESE) is a group of individuals involved in the selection, editing, and publication of manuscripts, books, journals, reports, maps and digital media pertaining to the earth sciences! AESE provides a forum for the interchange of ideas that will lead to more effective dissemination of earth science information to the scientific community, educators and students, and the public.
What's New?
Planning is underway for the 2025 AESE annual meeting! The meeting will be held the first week of October in Bloomington, Indiana. We've now posted information about the venue and hotel room reservations. Check back in May and June for more information about registration and the technical program. The call for nominations for AESE awards is now open! Nominate a person, publication, or outreach product for one of our four awards. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2025 (extended from May 30). Check out our Awards page for more information.

AESE is the Association of Earth Science Editors. We are a group of editors, publishers, and science communicators coming together to share our knowledge and experience in development, editing, and publication of earth science content. Our members come from a range of backgrounds, from state, federal, and provincial geological survey editors, to freelance editors and university educators. The purpose of AESE is to foster education and improved communication in the earth sciences by providing efficient means for cooperation among editors and promoting effective dissemination of earth science information.
